Bad Casting on Intake Manifold

Port Matching Challenges

The engine builders at C&D performance are on the final stretch to complete my 383 inch small block engine.   This will be to match the ports on the intake manifold with the ports on the cylinder head.   Using Fel-Pro performance 1205 intake manifold gaskets ( recommended by AFR Heads) as a guide, you can see how close they match up with the right bank of the intake manifold shown above.

Not so good with the left bank as you can see..  

 

 

It appears that the casting on the front of the manifold is warped so much that the water jacket shown on the right side is way off and the intake ports are into the gasket areas.

 

 

The manifold was included in the fuel injection kit that I purchased from Pro-M Racing.   I am not worried,  They have a great reputation for service and support.  I will see in a few days on what the resolution will be.   Stay tuned..
